Robert Riva wins Oxygen’s Love Games Series

PRLog (Press Release)– Jun 23, 2011– (West Palm Beach—Fl)--- Robert Riva, defeated 14 bachelors wh rc helicopter and car market place en he won the 'game'  in Oxygen's reality show 'Bad Girls need Love too'.  The Season Finale was aired on June 13th, 2011.  Robert and Lea Beaulieu, star of Bad Girls-- Season --5 were the winners of the show.

Riva, the youngest candidate, was recruited weeks after graduating from University of Miami.  "It's not like there was a high demand in the job market.  I had been working on a social media site and using my real estate license to assist fellow students with housing needs, when I was invited to be one of the contestants. I knew if I won, it would help me leverage my entrepreneurial ambitions," said Riva.

Riva will launch his innovative social media website along with his partner Nathaniel Wish in July.  Riva holds a Bachelors in Business Administration from University of Miami and is an active licensed real estate associate in the State of Florida.

Though filming was completed by December 2010, Riva was not allowed to share results until the finale aired this month (June, 2011).  In the meantime, Robert volunteered as 'guest bartender' for various charities and offered to  'host interview' at high profile events including the launch of Gracida Polo. "At the end of the day, my aspirations are to develop my business, but I'm always ready to support great causes.  I'm honored to be asked to partake and happy to help," said Riva

PRLog (Press Release)– Jun 17, 2011– However, following James May's sensational declaration last year that these practical 'dad skills' were in serious decline, Hycote, the UK's expert car care manufacturer commissioned a survey to better understand why, when it comes to practical ability, sons are proving to be a disappointment.

In the survey, over 1000 fathers, sons and daughters were asked what essential skills they believe the younger generation should have, particularly the men. 88% of fathers stated that the ability to carry out basic DIY and maintenance skills, such as wiring a plug, knowing how to change a car tyre and touching up car paintwork were key skills.

In comparison, men aged 18 to 25 stated that these were very much at the bottom of the skills agenda, favouring the ability to maintain a personal appearance (98%), especially when it came to attracting members of the opposite sex.  

So where it seems audi the skills gap between fathers and sons is widening, the survey reveals that women are taking the 'dad skills' baton and running with it. 90% of women aged 18 to 55 said that their dad had passed on skills such as how to wire a plug and conduct basic motor maintenance.  

Overwhelmingly, women across the UK believe men should all have the 'dad skills' to carry out basic DIY and car maintenance, but als bmw o be a smart dresser with an eye for fashion in order to be considered attractive – with a good sense of humour falling to third place.

PEARL Adds ‘Service Organization’ Membership, Seeks ANSI Accredited Standards Developer Status

s recent annual meeting, PEARL members voted to expand membership to include a new Service Organization Member category. PEARL also redefined its Associate Member category, and by a straw p corsa oll, confirmed PEARL's Board of Director's suggestion that the association pursue Standards Deve chevrolet lopment Organization (SDO) status through the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).

The new Service Organization category applies to all electrical service companies that have a permanent facility for electrical reconditioning. Members of the Service Organization class have full Voting Member privileges and rights. In addition to a permanent reconditioning facility, Service Organization members must meet all other PEARL member requirements, such a minimum of $1 million in annual sales, adhere to PEARL standards and Codes of Business Practice.

"This new category is designed for electrical field service companies, such as those that belong to NETA, as well as motor and transformer repair shops, such as those that belong to EASA, assuming they also have a permanent facili auto part ty for electrical apparatus reconditioning and meet the other criteria," explained David Rosenfield, President of ROMAC Supply and Director for PEARL.

PEARL members also approved changes to the Associate Member category. From now on, all new members will apply as Associate Members until such time as they request site inspection and certification by PEARL. Following a successful site certification, the Associate Member can become a dodge full Voting Member with full association privileges. In the past, new members could join as full-voting members with the intent to pursue site certification and receive many of the benefits of PEARL membership prior to site certification.

PEARL member companies also agreed during the official business meeting to accept the Board of Director's recommendation that PEARL pursue SDO status through ANSI with the intent of adding PEARL's reconditioning standards to the ANSI body of U.S. technical standards.

Hot Rods by the Slice Strives to End Hunger in Austin

PRLog (Press Release) – Infiniti m hybird Jun 14, 2011 – Austin, Texas — A monthly event called Hot Rods by the Slice, created by Murpho's Rods and Customs and Rockin Tomato on South Lamar, has teamed up with the Capital Area Food Bank (CAFB) for their June 18th event. They will be collecting canned goods and dry goods throughout the day with all items to benefit Capital Area Food Bank's effort to end hunger. They are asking everyone to donate two or more, healthy non-perishable food items for donation, all of which benefits CAFB.

"The Hot Rods by the Slice event is an example of creating a fun community event with a focus on giving back to the community at the same time," notes Murph from Murpho's Rods and Customs. "More so now than ever, people are stepping up to serve their communities, and people are realizing that hunger is a reality in every town, not only in our most challenged communities.
