Save energy and money with energy efficient lighting

In addition, CFL's produce about 75% less heat. That helps reduce home cooling costs in the summer. Compact Fluorescent bulbs yield the greatest savings when lights are on for a long time each day such as the family and living room, kitchen, dining room, or bedroom.

ENERGY STAR is a government-backed symbol for energy efficient products and practices that helps homeowners save both energy and money.
Also install controls such as timers and photo cells. They save electricity by turning lights off when not in use. In addition, dimmers help save electricity because they allow lights to be reduced to lower light levels.

Simply take advantage of daylight by using light-colored, loose-weave curtains on your windows to allow daylight to penetrate the room. Voila! "Most outdoor lighting is used for either decoration and security. Use ENERGY STAR LED (light emitting diodes) products when lighting pathway lights, or step lights. Make sure your porch, garage, or flood lights are fitted with CFL bulbs," he mentioned.
